Wicked is one of the most popular musicals in London theatre, still playing at the Victoria Apollo, one of the larger but also more modern(ish) venues. It’s a spectacular show, with an elaborate set, outrageous costumes costumes, broomstick riding and flying monkeys, Some of the singing is very powerful too. The audience is mostly young and female, perhaps aspiring performers themselves which makes for a lively atmosphere in the Apollo which is near Victoria station, separate from London’s main theatre area, but still very convenient for Wicked Theatre Breaks.
The main female roles of Glinda and Elphaba tend to change periodically with Broadway and other world productions of the same Wicked show swapping round a bit.
